Creating a product

The product form field by field, the URL slug you can rename later, and drafting a whole batch from photos.

The Free plan allows 5 products per shop — the sixth is refused when you save it.

The URL slug, and renaming it later

The public product page lives at /your-shop/product/<slug> — readable and SEO-friendly. Every card, search result, cart line, sitemap entry and merchant feed links that address.

A new product takes its slug from its name, and you can overwrite it in the URL slug field while typing. A batch drafted by AI Photo Upload gets one from the name the AI gave it, which is rarely the one you would have chosen.

So the field stays editable on a product you already saved: open the product, write the new slug, save. What you type is turned into a proper address as you go (capitals, umlauts and spaces included), and the slug has to be free within your shop — if another product already holds it, the save says so.

Renaming the slug changes the address. Links to the old one — a post you shared, a bookmarked page, the entry Google has indexed — no longer lead anywhere, and it takes Google a while to pick up the new address.

Old /your-shop/product/<id> links are not affected: they keep working as a fallback, whatever the slug says.

The tabs

Descriptions and images by AI

The form offers AI generation for descriptions, sales pictures and additional product images. Additional images are generated from the main image, so they show the exact same product; without a main image they are generated from the description instead.

Every AI-generated picture carries an AI-generated label on the storefront.

Categories

Categories are created as you type them on a product; there is no separate screen to manage them first. They matter in three places:

  • the catalogue's category filter for visitors
  • the Group By Category tiles in product grid blocks
  • the breadcrumb on a product page

AI Photo Upload

AI Photo Upload, on the products screen, turns a pile of pictures into products instead of typing a catalogue in product by product: up to 20 images at once, one product per image. The optional context prompt — "premium electronics for a tech store", "handmade pieces in natural materials" — steers what the AI guesses about names, categories, prices and descriptions.

It costs 3 AI credits per product and runs in the background: the dialog closes right away and the products appear one by one while you carry on working.

What comes back is a draft. Go through every one afterwards — particularly prices, stock and package sizes, which decide what customers pay.

The product's average rating

Once a product has reviews, the product editor's header shows its average with a link to the Reviews page.
