10mShop

Your assistant

The 10mShop Assistant answers questions about your shop, looks things up in it, and changes products and settings for you — after showing you exactly what will change.

The dashboard has a chatbot — the 10mShop Assistant — that answers questions about finding your way around and about your shop. It looks things up in your shop for you, and it changes products and settings when you ask it to: first it shows you what would change, and only your click carries it out. While we are still checking its answers it carries a Beta badge: if one misses the mark, tell us in a ticket.

Where to find it

There are two ways in, and both show the same conversation:

  • On the Overview, the first block under the title is its field, What would you like to do? Type or speak a question, or tap one of the suggestions below the field; the answer appears right there, and See the whole conversation opens the chat window. The arrows at the top right make the field one slim line (Show smaller) and big again (Show larger); the dashboard remembers your choice on every device.
  • On every page, the round button at the bottom right (Ask me on a larger screen) opens the chat window. It slides out of the way while the chat is open; the cross in the chat's title bar closes it again. On a larger screen you can drag the chat window by its title bar and pull any edge or corner to make it bigger or smaller. Your browser remembers where it was and how big.

A question asked in the field shows up in the window, and the other way round. The conversation is kept for your account in each shop, so you find it on your phone too, and it is deleted 90 days after its last message. New conversation in the window's title bar deletes it at once and starts afresh. Questions are also stored anonymously for 90 days to improve the web app.

The first time you open a new shop, the assistant greets you in the field and asks whether you already have photos of your products or would rather get the paperwork done first. Tap an answer or just write.

You can also speak your question instead of typing it: press the microphone button beside the input field, speak, and press it again to stop. What you said appears in the field, so you can check it before you send it. The first time, your browser asks whether the dashboard may use the microphone. The recording itself is not stored.

What it looks up for you

Ask about your shop and the assistant looks it up before it answers:

  • What is left to do and why your shop is offline: the open steps of the setup checklist, your plan and your credits.
  • How many and which: products (for example sold out or running low), orders (for example to ship, or from last month) and customers, with the filters of the lists.
  • Your discount codes, your settings tab by tab, the newsletter and the pages in the designer.

It reads what you see in the dashboard, never your bank details, tax number or passwords, and passes what an answer needs to OpenAI for that answer only, not for training.

Under an answer you may find buttons:

  • Show me takes you to the right place and points at it.
  • See the products in the list (or the orders or the customers), with the number of rows, opens that list with exactly the filters of the answer. They are unsaved changes of the list's first view: Save, Save as new view or Discard changes, as with any change. The chat window opens beside the list; on a phone a slim bar Back to the conversation appears at the bottom instead, and a tap on it brings the chat back.
  • When your question can be read more than one way, the assistant asks back and offers answers to tap.

What it changes for you

Ask the assistant to change products, in your own words — for example "set all sold-out products in the category Mugs to pre-order, shipping from 15 December" — and it prepares the change. It can change:

  • the price, to an amount or by a percentage, and a sale that shows the old price struck through, or the end of one;
  • the stock, to a number or by adding or taking away;
  • When sold out: Stop selling, Keep selling or Pre-order, with the day it ships and the most pieces that can be pre-ordered;
  • the category, whether a product shows in the shop or stays a draft, whether it is featured, its tags and your own product fields;
  • every other field of the products list: the name, the vendor, the SKU, the barcode, the supplier's article number, the cost per item, whether the stock is tracked, one of a kind, the low-stock alert, the tax category, the content for the unit price, the weights and sizes, the package size and the texts for search engines;
  • archiving and deleting products.

A price, a sale, the stock, "When sold out" and the other fields of a variant change for the variants the assistant found; the name, the category, the tags and the rest change for the whole product. A name, a text for search engines, a SKU or a barcode belongs to one product: the assistant changes it only when it has found exactly that one. Writing a description yourself, pictures and adding or removing variants stay in the product form for now.

The assistant can also press the AI button for you, for many products at once: ask it to write or rewrite the texts for search engines, the short or the full descriptions, and the AI writes each product its own text, with its picture and its details, just as the AI button in the product form does. It costs what the button costs, 0.1 credit per text, and the card shows the total and how many credits you have before you run it. If the credits run out on the way, the assistant stops there and keeps what was written.

Your settings

The assistant changes your settings too when you ask it to — for example "change my company address to Bahnhofstrasse 5, 8001 Zurich":

  • the name and the description of your shop;
  • the company name, address, email and phone of the shop;
  • the legal form and the registration number;
  • the texts under About Us: story, mission and vision;
  • a page's title and description for search engines;
  • your social links;
  • the message at the top of the checkout;
  • shipping: the countries you deliver to, each with its shipping methods, prices and delivery days, the amount from which shipping is free, the minimum order value and its notes — "shipping to Switzerland 7.90, free from 80";
  • collection in person with its note;
  • your opening hours, special days such as holidays included;
  • your own questions in the checkout;
  • prepayment, invoice and cash on or off, and the invoice's payment term.

It takes your words and numbers as you write them and never makes up an address or a number: if something is missing, it asks. Its card shows each part of the settings that changes — Address or About Us, say — with the values before and after, and See it in the settings opens the first of them. Changing settings costs nothing. A part you changed after the card was made stays as it is, and Undo sets the settings back as it does for products. Taking a country off your shipping list stops the orders to it, so that card's button is the red-orange one; its undo puts the country back with everything it had. Invoice and prepayment it switches on only once your bank account is entered under Payment Methods: only you enter it, and if it is missing, the assistant shows you the way there.

It also has the AI write texts for you — "write my legal texts", "write new search-engine texts for all my pages": the legal texts (all five or the ones you name), the About Us texts and the pages' search-engine texts, each as the AI button beside it on the settings page writes it, for 0.1 credit per text; the card shows the total. A legal text you already have is changed only where a fact requires it, so your own wording stays. The legal texts name your company: if the address or the email is missing, the card says so, because the AI puts a placeholder there and your shop stays offline as long as one is left. Fill them in first — the assistant does that too, with the details you give it.

The card

Before anything changes, the answer shows a card with:

  • what will change, and for how many products;
  • the first ten products with their values before and after, and how many more there are;
  • a link to all of them in the products list, with the filters the assistant used;
  • what it costs. Changing products costs nothing.

Products that already are as you asked, and ones that cannot take the change (a pre-order on a product whose stock is not tracked, for instance), are left out, and the assistant says why.

Nothing has changed yet. Run carries out exactly what the card shows, and Cancel drops it. Archiving and deleting have a red button, because they take products out of your shop: archived products can be restored, deleted ones cannot. A card can be run for 30 minutes; after that, ask again and the assistant looks again.

While it runs

The change runs in the background, so you can close the window or keep working. The card, a strip at the top of the chat window and the field on the Overview show how far it is, for example "3 of 14 changed". Stop halts it after the products it is working on; what is done stays done.

A product that changed after the card was made — in the list, in its form, or through an order that changed its stock — is left as it is: the assistant never overwrites a change made in between.

When it is finished, the assistant says so in the conversation: how many products changed and, under What went differently:, which were left as they were and why. One change covers at most 1000 products, and you can run up to 20 changes an hour.

Undo and history

Under a job's final message there is Undo, for 30 days. It makes a new card that shows which products go back to what they held before; only Run sets them back. Archived products come back into the shop. A product you or an order changed since stays as it is, and the card says how many. Deleted products cannot be brought back, and credits spent on AI texts stay spent. Each job can be undone once.

The clock in the chat window's title bar opens the History: every job of the last 30 days, the newest first, with what it changed and Undo while it is possible. Jobs our support ran during a visit are marked by support. You can also ask the assistant what it changed, or ask it to undo a job.

What it does not change

It does not touch money or your account: payouts, refunds, Stripe, your plan, your credits, your password, closing the shop. Bank details, VAT and tax and your domain it never changes, nor Stripe's payment methods or the switch that opens the checkout. Orders, customers, discount codes, the other settings, the newsletter and the designer it does not change yet: for those it explains the steps and shows you the way.

It only does what you ask for in your own words. Something a customer wrote, such as an order note, is never an instruction for it, whatever it says.

For anything that needs us to look at your account, open a ticket.
