Your own domain
Buying one in the dashboard or connecting one you own — and why transferring is not offered.
Plano Pro

Custom domains are a Pro feature. Settings → Custom domain offers two routes.
Buying a domain in the dashboard
Enter a full domain, or just a name to see available endings — .com, .ch,
.shop and the rest — sorted by current price, with first-year discounts and the
renewal price from year 2 shown.
- Paid yearly at cost in USD via Stripe.
- Premium names costing more than 100 USD a year, and endings sold only for
several years at once (such as
.ai), are not offered. - Some endings cannot be bought here at all:
.de,.at,.fr,.itand.euamong them, and endings whose registry asks for extra details about the owner (such as.us). Buy those from another provider and connect them as described below. - The platform hosts the new domain's DNS zone and connects it to your shop automatically.
This is the simpler route, and it unlocks two conveniences later: one-click email sending and the Connect your mailbox section.
Who owns the domain
The domain is registered in your name: it belongs to you, not to the platform. After choosing it you confirm the owner's details — name, address, email and phone — before Continue to payment takes you to Stripe. They are filled in from your last domain, or from your company details under Settings → Address. We pass them to our registrar, Vercel, and to the registry of the ending.
The registry then sends a confirmation email to that address. Confirm it within 15 days, or the registry suspends the domain and your shop is no longer reachable at it. Until the confirmation is on record, Settings → Custom domain shows a notice with the deadline.
After paying
The domain is registered right after the payment, which usually takes less than a minute. The page shows it while it runs and connects the domain to your shop as soon as it is registered. You can close the page meanwhile: the platform finishes on its own, by the next day at the latest.
If the registration fails, you get your payment back automatically and the subscription ends. There is nothing to do on your side.
Renewal
The domain renews every year with its subscription, at the renewal price. Cancel that subscription under Manage Subscription on the subscription page and the domain is no longer renewed: it stays yours until the paid year ends and then expires. While a renewal payment is outstanding, the domain is not renewed either.
Connecting a domain you already own
Enter the domain — example.com or www.example.com — and select
Link domain. The section then lists the records to add at your DNS
provider, each with its host written the way providers ask for it (@ is the
domain itself) and a value to copy:
- the domain itself points here with an A record,
wwwor any other subdomain with a CNAME; - the other spelling, with or without
www, is added for you and forwards to your address — its record is listed too; - a TXT record appears only when the domain is still in use elsewhere at our hosting provider, as the proof that it is yours.
Each record says Found or Not found yet. While the page is open it checks every minute for half an hour, Check now checks at once, and after that the platform checks once a day on its own — so a domain whose records are in place goes live by the next day at the latest, page open or not. New records often show up within minutes, but can take up to a day.
The platform's own addresses cannot be connected, nor a domain another shop already uses. To change to another domain, remove the current one first with Unlink domain.
Transferring is not offered
Moving a domain between providers can disrupt its existing DNS records — including your email. So you keep your domain where it is and connect it instead.
What changes once it is verified
The shop is served at the domain root
Without the slug. A link that still carries the slug is permanently redirected (308) to the slugless address, so search engines keep the clean one.
SEO surfaces move with it
The sitemap and a robots.txt are served at the domain root, and the
product feed URLs appear in the SEO section
— on that domain. Hand Google and Meta those URLs. Your domain is also
what you verify in Google Search Console,
with the HTML tag.
Email sending becomes available
An Email sending section appears below the domain settings. See Sending from your own domain.
What stays the platform's on your domain
Three paths stay ours even on your domain, because they would 404 with a slug in front of them:
/api— where your storefront's own blocks fetch products, categories and shop settings/auth— where Supabase sends a visitor back after a mail link/_next— the framework's own files
Everything else belongs to your shop. /legal, /sitemap.xml and
/robots.txt on your domain are your shop's pages, not the platform's.
Going back to Free
On the Free plan a connected domain simply stops
resolving, and the shop is reachable at its /<shop-slug> address again. The
domain row is left intact, so upgrading brings it straight back — there is no
restore step.
A domain bought here keeps renewing on Free as well. To let it expire, cancel its subscription under Manage Subscription on the subscription page; the button stays there as long as a bought domain renews.
