Reviews
Verified-purchase reviews, the request email, the block on the product page, and why you cannot delete a review.
Esta página ainda não está traduzida. É apresentada em inglês; tudo o que descreve funciona da mesma forma no seu idioma.
Reviews on 10mShop are verified purchase reviews: the link in the request email is the proof of purchase, so guest buyers can review too, with no login needed.
Switching the whole system off
A button top right on the Reviews page switches the shop's whole review system off, and back on.
While it is off:
- no review-request emails go out
- no reviews and no star ratings appear anywhere on the storefront — landing page, product pages, product cards
- an old review link from an earlier email no longer opens a form
- the designer follows: a Product Reviews block renders nothing on the canvas either, the block library and the AI stop offering and creating one, and a testimonial block set to Use Featured Reviews shows your own written quotes again
Nothing is deleted. The Reviews page still lists, filters and exports every review, and they all reappear exactly as they were the moment you switch it back on — including review requests that were still pending.
A reviews block already in the layout is never removed: it stays in the block list marked as switched off, and can be reordered, replaced or deleted from there. Because it is not on the canvas it cannot be clicked or styled until reviews are back on.
Switching off is confirmed first, and a notice on the page states the state. The Review request template and the New review notification under Settings say so as well.
Review requests
A configurable number of days after an order is fulfilled — 1 to 90, default 7, set in the template's Send timing field — the customer automatically gets an email with one signed review link per product.
The email is configured under Settings → Notifications, Review request template:
- like the order and shipment emails it is off by default, and can only be switched on once subject and body are filled in (AI generation buttons help write them)
- the text must contain the
[review_links]placeholder — if it is missing, the built-in template in your shop's language is sent instead - it always ends with an unsubscribe link; a customer who uses it gets no further review requests from your shop, and the manual send button then reports that instead of sending
Sending one by hand
Fulfilled orders have a Send now / Send again button on the order page (absent while the system is off). It works before the delay has passed, with the template switched off (the built-in text is used), or as a re-send — and it counts as the send, so the scheduled automatic email never goes out on top of it.
What a review is
1 to 5 stars plus an optional title and text. It publishes automatically and shows the buyer's first name with a verified purchase badge.
One review per product per order, editable through the same link for 120 days.
What you can and cannot do
You can reply publicly — the reply appears under the review in your shop — and you can hide clearly abusive reviews or un-hide them.
You cannot delete or edit reviews. Cherry-picking negative-but-genuine reviews would make the stars worthless, and collides with EU rules on review authenticity.
The Reviews page
Four tiles: reviews total, the average of the published ones, published with the hidden count beneath it, and how many published reviews still have no reply.
The tiles deliberately do not follow the filters — they describe the whole shop. An average that followed the star filter would only echo the star you picked.
Below them a filter bar: full-text search across product, reviewer, email, title, text and order number; checkbox filters for visibility (published / hidden / on landing page), star rating and reply state (with / without reply); a from-and-to date range; a sort order (newest, oldest, highest or lowest rated); and a reset button.
All of it is applied in the database, so it covers every review rather than a recent slice. Paginated 25 at a time, filters remembered per browser, and Export downloads every review the filters let through as CSV.
The Product Reviews block
While the system is on, published reviews appear on the product page in a Product Reviews block you pick and style like any other. Five layouts:
| Layout | Reads as |
|---|---|
| Average with a star-distribution chart above a card list | The classic |
| A summary rail pinned beside the scrolling reviews | Detail-heavy |
| A masonry wall of short reviews under a one-line summary | Volume |
| One review at a time as a large swipeable quote | Quality over quantity |
| A framed verdict panel whose star chart filters the list below it | Interactive, with a sort row |
All five take the same Display settings: Star Style (classic, outline, block pips, a bar, or just the number), Star Color, how many reviews are shown before show more, and toggles for the summary, the distribution chart, the verified badge, your replies and Hide When Empty.
The block is for the product detail page only — anywhere else there is no product whose reviews it could read.
Product pages of shops built before the block existed keep rendering the old fixed section until a reviews block is added, and it steps aside as soon as one is.
A product nobody has reviewed shows no reviews section at all, unless Hide When Empty is switched off.
Where else reviews show up
- Product cards: the product's average next to the price (a star plus the number), behind the card's Card Show Rating toggle. A product without reviews shows nothing there.
- Structured data: the product's JSON-LD carries
aggregateRatingplus recent reviews — what makes star snippets in Google search possible. - The order page: the reviews written on that order, plus order-history entries ("review request sent", one "review received" per review with product and stars).
- The customer page: the customer's average given rating as a badge.
- The product editor's header: the product's average, linking to the Reviews page.
Featuring reviews
On the Reviews page, Show on landing page features individual reviews.
Every testimonial block carries a Use Featured Reviews toggle at the top of its Text tab, which makes it show those reviews instead of the quotes you typed — the three newest at most, each with the buyer's name and the product it praises, in whatever style that block already has. Variants built around one large picture use the product's photo, since reviewers upload none.
While nothing is featured, the block keeps its written quotes, so the section is never empty.
Without such a block, featured reviews render in a built-in "What our customers say" section on the landing page before the footer — each card with the product's image and a link to the product while it is still in the shop.
A review whose product was archived or unpublished still shows, just without image and link. That is deliberate: for one-of-a-kind sellers, the review of a sold piece is what sells the next one.
The built-in section steps aside as soon as a testimonial block on the page pulls the same reviews, so they never appear twice — and disappears entirely when nothing is featured. Hidden reviews never appear anywhere.
Getting told about a new review
Switch on New review under Settings → Notifications: you get an email as soon as a customer rates a product, with the stars, the title and the text. A customer editing that same review later does not mail again.
