Size charts

Tables of your sizes for clothes, shoes or rings, which the product page opens through a link beside the variants.

A visitor who cannot tell whether an M fits them buys nothing, or buys and sends it back. A size chart puts your measurements one click away from the choice: you make the table once for a kind of product, and every product of those categories offers it on its page.

Size charts are on every plan.

Making a chart

Settings → Products, below the product fields, then Add size chart. Each chart has:

  • a Name, the heading of the window on the product page, such as "Tops" or "Rings"
  • For the categories: the categories whose products show the chart. A category belongs to one chart only, so a category another chart has is not offered.
  • the table: the headings across the top, one line per size. Add line and Add column add one, the cross beside a heading or at the end of a line takes it away. The first column names the size (S, M, L or 38, 39, 40), which is why the window prints it in bold. Up to 8 columns and 40 lines; empty lines and columns are left out when you save.
  • How to measure (optional): a note the window prints under the table, with its line breaks, such as where to lay the tape measure.

A shop has up to 10 charts. Save changes stores them, as in every section of the settings. A chart is shown exactly as you write it and is never translated.

On a product

By default the product's category decides: a product in a category one of your charts has shows that chart, and a product in no such category shows none. The product form's card Size chart names the chart the category gives and lets one product pick another chart, or No size chart. The card appears once the shop has a chart.

A product that picked a chart you remove later goes by its category again. Gift cards never show a size chart.

In the shop

Every product info design shows the link to the chart, in your shop's language, to the right of the label where the visitor picks a variant; a product without variants shows the link on its own. A click opens the table in a window over the page, and the cross, the Escape key or a click beside the window closes it. A table wider than a phone's screen scrolls sideways inside the window.

The window is part of the page itself, so the link works from the moment the page appears, before anything else has loaded.
